The Center for American Progress is a think tank in Washington, DC that was founded by John Podesta, the former chief of staff to President Clinton. This site offers interesting reports on green economy policy.

PolicyLink connects the work of people on the ground to the creation of sustainable communities of opportunity that allow everyone to participate and prosper. Such communities offer access to quality jobs, affordable housing, good schools, transportation, and the benefits of healthy food and physical activity.

Smart Growth and Livable Communities

The Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that exists to inspire, strengthen and expand philanthropic leadership and funders’ abilities to support organizations working to improve communities through better development decisions and growth policies. It brings together foundations, nonprofit organizations and other partners to address the range of environmental, social, and economic problems caused by development strategies that fail to consider the big picture. This site offers good information for funders.

National Association of Development Companies (NADCO)

NADCO is the trade association for the nation’s Certified Development Companies (CDCs). Their website offers updates on weatherization programs going on across the country.

African-American Chamber of Commerce: Business Growth Institute

As part of the African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ, and DE(AACC)’s mission to foster growth amongst entrepreneurs and small businesses for the 21st century economy, the AACC is hosting a new, interactive technical assistance program aptly titled Business Growth Institute. This free program series will be hosted by the AACC three times a year.
