Join the Planning Committee: The SVI Planning Committee is made up of a group of individuals who all share a passion for entrepreneurship, diversity and the Triple Bottom Line business model of People, Planet and Profit. This committee’s role is to provide insight to SBN staff about topics important to entrepreneurs, new industry trends and innovative ideas to connect people at the conference. As a committee member, you are responsible for content development, educational add-ons (such as networking forums and consulting services) and recommending panelists to participate in the breakout sessions and Case Studies.
Apply to be a Case Study: Get business advice and valuable feedback from expert panelists and an audience of fellow entrepreneurs.
Case Studies are the core of the Social Venture Institute model and where some of the greatest learning happens. In selecting case studies, we look for two companies that have several key components: enterprises at various stages of growth, well-framed and articulated problem statements, and opportunities to draw larger lessons for the whole group.
During the Case Study sessions, the selected participants will briefly describe their business challenge and answer follow-up questions from a panel of expert respondents, who will then give their feedback and advice while drawing practical lessons for the larger group. The audience will also be asked to participate by sharing their feedback and ideas. We have found this to be a very powerful way for the entire group to gain a wealth of practical ideas about how to manage the challenges of running a socially responsible enterprise.
Volunteer: We have multiple volunteer positions available. Volunteers attend SVI for free and support SBN staff with registration, set-up, break-down, and other tasks as needed. Volunteering at SVI is challenging, but also a fun and rewarding experience, perfect for students and start-ups. Volunteer positions are limited and preference is given to individuals with event coordination experience.
If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, please contact Jen Devor for more information.
