June 12 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am EDT
SBN Roundtable with Councilman Derek Green and CAO Christine Derenick-Lopez
The Entrepreneurs’ Roundtable is an intentionally intimate monthly members-only issue-based breakfast conversation created to connect local independent businesses, elected officials and other key decision makers in the city, region, and state.
For June’s Roundtable, SBN is excited to welcome Coucilman-at-Large Derek Green, as well as the City of Philadelphia’s Chief Administrative Officer Christine Derenick-Lopez to discuss the Local Business Purchasing Initiative (LBPI). The LBPI aims to increase local business access to City of Philadelphia procurement opportunities by streamlining the process for purchases under $100,000, encouraging competition, and removing barriers to entry into the system. Through legislation introduced by Councilmember-at-Large, Derek Green on April 11, 2019, if approved by City voters in November 2019, the City will increase the maximum dollar amount when a formal bid or RFP is required – raising the threshold from $34,000 to $100,000 – if contracting with a local business, and from $34,000 to $75,000 for all business.
