Home Philadelphia Serving as a Green Infrastructure Pioneer

Mayor Kenney helped kickoff Infrastructure Week, which took place May 15 through the 19, by writing an op-ed for the Brookings Institute on the successes of Philadelphia’s Green City, Clean Waters (GCCW). The article points to GCCW’s environmental successes and highlights the next wave of workforce development opportunities and contract opportunities for small and local businesses.

Mayor Kenney explains, “With investment distributed across both decades and neighborhoods, the many smaller, decentralized projects that make up Green City, Clean Waters are creating new entry points for smaller, local firms to bid on and build green infrastructure.”
