Senior Residential Solar & Energy Storage Sales Representative
For more than 16 years, Solar States, LLC has been a regional leader in the solar power field – both in terms of system installs and workforce development in the emerging Green Collar economy. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we have installed over 1,400 residential systems including rooftop solar, canopies, ground mounts, carports, EV chargers, storage. We have installed 15+ MW of behind the meter Residential Solar, Battery, EV and Electrical infrastructure. Keeping true to our founding mission, we have trained over 400 new entries to the Green Collar economy. For 16 years, Solar States has been a dominant solar services provider in the Philadelphia region, and especially within the Philadelphia City limits.
We are now expanding our residential services team and are seeking to fill a key position – Senior Residential Sales Representative. In general, the ambitious individual in this position is expected to:
- Identify and prospect potential residential clients through inbound leads provided by the Company, as well as by their own networking, referrals, and other lead generation techniques.
- Act as a knowledgeable and credible consultative sales professional to ensure a high integrity process that fully informs the client
- Conduct thorough analysis of client’s primary motivations, communication style & concerns to inform the ideal sales strategy and identify appropriate solar energy products, battery systems, electric solution or services to achieve client’s goals
- Successfully prepare and present proposals, quotes, financing options and contracts for clients
- Serve as an enthusiastic representative of our core values and enthusiasm for clean, renewable energy. Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, project management, and installation to ensure seamless delivery of solar projects.
- Perform daily activities in a highly organized and interconnected team environment, using all company communication platforms (strong organizational ability required)
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities. Use market insights to identify new sales opportunities and refine sales strategies.
- Close $1.25 to $1.75 Million in sales per year, but with no commission caps or earning caps.
Prerequisites For This Role
- Minimum of two years in-home residential solar sales experience or a related home improvement, construction or residential real estate sales role.
- Strong communication skills
- Creative problem solving skills for custom projects
- Organized, detailed-oriented
- Good at working on a team and independently
- High level of proficiency using Apple Computers, Google Suite, Webtools, CRM/Data Management System, and Microsoft Excel.
Special Considerations (Desirable attributes, not prerequisites)
- A working understanding of solar power, electrical distribution, EV chargers, battery systems, solar tariffs, and solar financial incentives
- NABCEP PV Associates
- NABCEP PV Technical Sales
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing
Compensation
Our Residential Sales Representative compensation plan is designed to yield a proven and sustained annual income of $70,000 to $120,000 per year for a qualified candidate
