Lucy has been involved in the non-profit management field for thirty-five years and has a diverse background in the industry. She has been a grassroots organizer for an Arson Awareness Program, a director of the NYS AFL-CIO political education committee, Executive Director of a major Western New York cultural organization and worked for NeighborWorks America as a Resource Development Management Consultant. Since 2007, Lucy has had her own resource development consulting business and provides expert fundraising and marketing services to many not-for-profit organizations across the country. While working with NeighborWorks America from 2004-2007 as a Resource Development Management Consultant, Lucy‘s territory covered Pennsylvania and in particular, Philadelphia. During that time she worked with New Kensington CDC as they shaped their stories in Fishtown and Kensington areas and was also involved with Neighborhoods Now. She has worked in the community development arena in Buffalo NY , Rochester, NY, Baltimore MD and now SW Virginia and has a proven track record of establishing key relationships within community, government and private sector organizations and using those relationships to build and sustain organizational strength.
Lucy currently lives in Salem, Virginia in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. When she’s not working or traveling to visit her daughter in Oklahoma City and her son in Washington DC, she can be found reading, knitting or cooking and on Sundays watching her beloved, Super Bowl bound Buffalo Bills! Lucy is very much looking forward to working with the staff and Board of SBN and can’t wait to have a chance to grab a cheesesteak although she chooses to keep her favorite a secret.
