Melanie Wright

Melanie has great passion for sustainable development and the role communications, collaboration and creativity play in driving positive social change.


She is an accomplished strategist with nearly 15 years of deep experience in integrated marketing communications, reputation management, corporate responsibility, sustainability and public/private partnerships for Fortune 500 companies and leading NGO’s.  She has launched national CSR campaigns with Microsoft, Google, NASA, Disney, the NFL, the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Latin GRAMMY Awards®.


Career highlights include directing diversity & inclusion initiatives and joint ventures with cultural exchange programs in Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America.   She received the Citizen Diplomacy Award for furthering the cause of international understanding and global engagement from Citizen Diplomacy International.  She has won industry awards for media campaigns featured in several prominent news and media outlets.


Prior to joining SBN, Melanie ran a strategic communications consultancy, where she worked with purpose driven entities, including Whole Foods and the Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers a nonprofit ecological restoration program.  She previously headed public relations at two of the largest private sector higher education institutions in North America.


Melanie has a B.A. in Political Science from Long Island University, CW Post.  She is a founding board member of Conscious Capitalism in Philadelphia and works on the Steering Committee of Girls on the Run Philadelphia.  She is a proud member of the West Mt. Airy’s Weavers Way Food Coop as well as the Philadelphia Blazers Ski Club and the Wissahickon Wanderers Running Club.


I am excited to join the SBN team at a time of growth and to help move our region toward a just, green, and thriving economy.  I also look forward to exploring ways to meet the needs of the vulnerable and to create healthy platforms for people of all backgrounds to embrace commonalities and celebrate differences.
