SBN’s Sustainable & Local Tour: Fishtown

We’re excited to have you join us for a day of exploring some of Fishtown’s sustainable businesses. This tour is centered around businesses within SBN’s membership, and our friends who believe doing good is good for business.

We’ve compiled information you’ll need for the day, including a list of the businesses participating in the tour, their sustainability practices, and their exclusive special offers and discounts. Please see information regarding the tour and these businesses below. Guided Tours will begin promptly at 11 am, 11:15 am, 2:00 pm, and 2:15 pm, leaving from the Fishtown Rose Garden located at 1401 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125.

There, tour-goers will check in and receive a wristband allowing them access to offers and discounts from each of the businesses participating in the event.

Monarch Yoga

Monarch Yoga is located just over the Fishtown border at 171 W.  Berks.  Monarch is an outdoor and heated yoga studio that began in June of 2020 with the goal of bringing movement and breath to the neighborhood mid-pandemic.  Monarch has now expanded to 20+ classes a week that include heated and non heated classes, as well as power vinyasa and slow flow classes. Mural City Cellars

Mural City Cellars is Philadelphia’s first independently-owned urban winery. Our minimal-intervention wines are made with grapes sourced from small farms located within a 300-mile radius of the city. All of our labels are designed by locally-based artists and a portion of sales through our CSW (Community Supported Winery) Program goes back into the community through donations to organizations like EKNA, FNA, and Mural Arts Philadelphia. Pom-Pom

We are a counter-service restaurant serving scratch-cooked, craveable vegetarian fare…burgers, melts, fries, salads, mac and cheese, chili. all items can be made vegan. We are committed to sustainable business practices wherever and whenever possible. pickling, fermenting, and dehydrating are routine for us as we aim to utilize all parts of fruits and vegetables to avoid waste. Our cooking oil is donated to produce bio-diesel fuel. Location: Fishtown Rose Garden, 1401 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Guided tours begin at 11am, 11:15am, 2pm, and 2:15pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour begins. Self guided tours will be throughout the day. Please arrive to the Fishtown Rose Garden for check-in and to receive a wristband. 

What to Bring: It will be a warm day, so please prepare as necessary with sunscreen and appropriate sun-gear. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a reusable water bottle and shopping bag. We will have a water bottle refill station located at the Rose Garden. 

COVID-19 Precautions: Precautions are at the discretion of the participants and each business’s policies. We will have masks available for those that need them. We ask that you please respect the rules of all the businesses participating in the tour. 

Getting to and from Fishtown: The Fishtown Rose Garden is conveniently located about three blocks from the Market-Frankford Line stop at Girard Station. Bus routes 5 and 25 and trolley route 15 also have stops in the area.

Parking: There is free street parking in the area. Please pay attention to signs with time limitations. There is also a paid lot located at 1320 N Front St. 

Tour Stops: There will be seven tour stops on your guided tour. You also have the option to add-on a 30 minute yoga session at Monarch Yoga at 1pm and/or a wine tasting courtesy of Mad Wild Wine at 1:30pm (also located at Monarch Yoga).
